Terms and conditions

Period:
Minimum rental period is 24 h
 
Documents:
When hiring a car the lessee is required to submit following documents:
1. Passport;
2. International driver’s license;
3. Credit card, which is valid for at least three months after the contract has ended.
ABEX car rental reserves the right to request additional documents if necessary.
ABEX car rental reserves the right to make copies of necessary documents and consider them as appendices to the contract.
 
Mileage:
There are no mileage limitations within the pick-up country.
Outside of the pick-up area the following restrictions occur:
Regular cars 300 km per day, minivans 400 km per day
The following restrictions are valid throughout the month: Regular cars 4,000 km per month, minivans 6,000 km per month.

Additional charge of 0.1 EUR per km applies if the limitations are exceeded.

Booking:
The lessee has the option of paying a booking fee or paying the full amount in advance for the lease period. The reservation order is considered confirmed after the company has sent an order confirmation to the lessee.
In case the lessee has already prepaid the full amount for the rental period and it appears that for reasons beyond the car rental’s control the company is not able to supply the customer with a vehicle, the lessor is obliged to refund the prepaid amount in total and an extra 10% for compensation
In case the lessee has paid the reservation fee and it appears that for reasons beyond its control the car rental is not able to supply the customer with a vehicle, the booking fee will be refunded and the reservation cancelled.
In case the lessee waives the booking no later than 10 days before the start of the rental period the reservation fee will be refunded in full and the booking will be cancelled.
If the lessee waives the reservation less than 10 days before the start of the lease the car hire has the right not to refund the booking fee.

Payments:
ABEX Car Rental expects all required payments to be done not later than at the moment of signing the contract.
As a method of payment ABEX Car Rental accepts the following debit and credit cards: Visa, MasterCard.
For the deposit payment ABEX Car Rental accepts following credit cards: Visa, MasterCard.
ABEX Car Rental also accepts bank transfers and cash payments as in advance deposit payments.
 
Insurance:
The rental charge includes a standard insurance package:

  1. Motor third party liability insurance and a green card;
  2. Collision damage waiver (CDW) insurance with a deductible of €500-800 subject to the car class;
  3. Theft protection (TP) insurance covering 85%. The deductible for TP insurance is 15% of the insured value of the car rented.

A car rental customer can reduce the deductible by choosing an additional insurance package for an extra charge when making the contract:

  • WWT – Windows, Wheels and Tyres. This insurance covers all the insurance events concerning windows, wheels and tyres.
  • RCI – Contract cancellation insurance. “Money back” insurance that offers the customer the possibility to cancel the rental contract before the expiry date of the contract. The sum paid for the rental period not used will be repaid to the customer according to the current price list.
  • Extra CDW (ECDW) – CDW insurance with a deductible of €250. Also includes third party liability (TPL) insurance.
  • Super CDW (SCDW) – CDW insurance with a deductible of €0. Also includes third party liability (TPL) insurance.
  • Extra Super CDW (ESCDW) – Insurance covering WWT, CDW with a deductible of €0 and TP with a deductible of €0. Also includes third party liability (TPL) insurance.

An insurance package including CDW or TP insurance is valid only if the customer has complied with the general terms and conditions of insurance that are presented when making the rental agreement.

The deposit:
Hiring a car also requires a deposit payment. The size of the deposit can be agreed upon by both parties when signing the contract. The deposit will be held from the lessee’s credit card and is refundable after the vehicle has been returned to the rental company and the car rental has no complaints.

Operating Area:
The vehicle is allowed to be used in its registration region (country or state). In case the lessee wants to use the vehicle in another country, it has to be confirmed by ABEX Car Rental with a written authorisation.

Car Condition:
ABEX Car Rental delivers its vehicles to the lessee in good and clean condition. When contracting the lessee is obliged to check the car’s technical condition and request that all defects and damages (including scratches) be designated in the contract or transfer act. When handing over the vehicle to the lessee both parties examine the car and write down the level of fuel in the contract or transfer act. The lessee is obliged to return the vehicle to the lessor with the same quantity of fuel.
After lessee has returned the vehicle, the car will be examined for damages and if any defects occur the car rental will follow established procedures.
 
Other:
All prices include VAT, 24 h emergency telephone assistance and emergency vehicle service in the registration region
ABEX car rental reserves the right to amend the existing terms and conditions and prices.
ABEX car rental reserves the right to refuse a contract and issue a vehicle.
